https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=661423 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=661423#c0 Summary: wireless does not work on Lenovo S10-3t after latest kernel update Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: mobile-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: prusnak@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development Blocker: --- I'm using Factory on Lenovo S10-3t. With older kernel version (unfortunately I don't remember which one) the wireless (ath9k) worked. After the update to 2.6.37-rc5-12-desktop it stopped working. I was poking further and I found it is probably a combination of rfkill and network manager issues. after boot "rfkill list" says: 0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 1: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no 2: ideapad_killsw: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no 3: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes Even if rfkill is set to off. Switching rfkill button on and off does not set the last phy0 hard block flag to "no". I am able to set this flag to "no" when issuing "rfkill unblock wifi" manually. "Enable wireless" menuitem is now enabled in nm-applet, but nothing happens after I click it. I am not able to get rid of Soft block even by issuing "nmcli nm wifi on". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
