http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=608562 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=608562#c0 Summary: 'yast2 repositories' refreshes newly added repos, but not newly enabled repos Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Milestone 6 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: llunak@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Steps to reproduce on 11.3 with KDE desktop: 1) Invoke KDE crash handler (e.g. Alt+F2 and type 'killall -ABRT krunner') 2) Select tab with developer information, generated backtrace will be considered not useful, so click the button for installing debug symbols 3) KDE crash handler will search for debuginfo package, but will show a dialog about not being able to find them, because although the 11.3-debug repo is added to the list of repositories, it is disabled by default 4) Select Yes to configure repositories, 'yast2 repositories' will be launched 5) Change the status of 11.3-debug repo to enabled 6) Click Ok to finish 'yast2 repositories' 7) The repository will not be refreshed 8) KDE crash handler will again search for debuginfo packages and fail again. Since it uses zypper for searching for the packages and it doesn't run as root or with some setuid wrapper, it cannot do repository refresh. If step 5) is replaced with (removing and) adding the repository, the refresh is done properly. Given that I fail to see any practical difference between these two cases, I consider the missing refresh a bug. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
