https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=343893 Summary: Yast will not allow user to configure a network card if it can't find the kernel module, but the only way to specify a kernel module is to configure the card Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: agronick@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Customer I have a D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G510 Wireless PCI card. It works with both Ndiswrapper and MadWifi drivers. However Ndiswrapper is faster. When ndiswrapper is installed Yast will not allow me to configure the card because it does not know that ndiswrapper can be used with this card. The configure button is grayed out. The settings inside the configure button allow the user the specify what module to use. When Madwifi is installed I am able to configure the card. This is because Yast recognizes the Madwifi kernel module. Only then am I able to specify ndiswrapper as the kernel module inside the configure dialog. I'm sure this was intended to be a feature. I don't think it was part of 10.2. I have included images of the problem. http://agronick.googlepages.com/suseproblem1.jpg http://agronick.googlepages.com/suseproblem2.jpg -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
