https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682124 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682124#c0 Summary: Firefox doesn't offers WebGL Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: colAflash@gmx.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 If I visit websites like https://mozillademos.org/demos/immersivevideo/demo.html using Firefox they tell me I have no WebGL support. A workaround is to set the "about:config" variable "webgl.osmesalib" to "/usr/lib64/libOSMesa.so". But I'm not shure, if this is hardware or software 3D. The performance of this fells ok: https://mozillademos.org/demos/immersivevideo/demo.html But this one shows only one fps: http://webglsamples.googlecode.com/hg/field/field.html Both times Firefox starts using a lot of cpu power (100% for at least one core by Firefox). So this might be software rendering. Why is WebGL not working? Shouldn't webgl.osmesalib be set by default, So there's at least software rendering? Don't forget: On x86_64 it should be set to "/usr/lib64/libOSMesa.so" and on i586 to "/usr/lib/libOSMesa.so". My system is this: x86_64 architecture MozillaFirefox-4.0.0-0.3.1 ASUS "M4A785TD-V EVO" Mainboard, having an onboard ATI RS880 (Radeon HD 4200) AMD Phenom II QuadCore CPU 4GB RAM Dual monitor setup, using DVI and VGA This is the device section of my "xorg.conf": Section "Device" BoardName "RV350 AS" Driver "radeon" Identifier "Device[0]" Option "monitor-DVI-0" "Monitor-DVI" Option "monitor-VGA-0" "Monitor-VGA" EndSection I'm still using my Xorg.conf (as you can see) because of my dual monitor setup. Thanks Moritz P.S. Chromium (from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE%3a/11.4%3a/Contrib/standa...) seems to have the same problem. But there seems to be no way to use libOSMesa.so Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start my Firefox 4, open a webpage using WebGL. https://mozillademos.org/demos/immersivevideo/demo.html Actual Results: No WebGL rendering. Maybe even an error message by the websites java script. Expected Results: Wonderfull WebGL graphics. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
