https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=696287 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=696287#c0 Summary: Latest (patched) python-feedparser introduces a new bug: empty feeds Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: windows2linux@zoho.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 python-feedparser-4.1-9.12.1.noarch This continues from a previous bug report: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=688878 The latest update to the python-feedparser package does indeed resolve the "keymap not defined" issue, but it introduces a new bug. Upon updating certain podcast feeds (in gPodder for example), the feed loses all the episodes and displays an empty list. Subsequent updates to the feed never return the list of episodes. To workaround this, I need to *remove* the subscription and add it back *after* I downgrade to version 4.1-8.1-noarch. If I update to the latest package again, I risk repeating the "empty feeds" bug. This only happens on *some* podcasts, but not every time. It is hard for me to extract any sort of pattern. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add the Science Talk feed to your subscriptions on gPodder: http://rss.sciam.com/sciam/science-talk 2. Check for updates 3. Feed *may* properly update, or it may show an empty list, which cannot be undone 4. Might have to try at different times to produce an empty list Actual Results: The subscription for Science Talk (or whatever podcast) shows an empty list of no episodes. Expected Results: The subscription should have properly updated. It should never empty out the entire list of episodes. This issue started happening after python-feedparser was patched from this bug report: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=688878 The "keymap" bug was fixed, but now this bug is introduced. It never happened under the version of the python-feedparser package that shipped with openSUSE 11.4. This does not occur on just *any* podcast subscription. Only certain ones. I cannot deduce what causes it to sporadically happen. My only solution is to downgrade the package, remove the subscription, and then re-add the subscription in gPodder. Here are two podcasts that I noticed this has happened with: http://rss.sciam.com/sciam/science-talk http://feeds.feedburner.com/linuxoutlaws-ogg -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
