Just because (even external) documentation fails to describe the process for
the case when pciback is a module doesn't mean it cannot be a module. Since the
general policy for the kernel is to let everything be a module if it can be so,
there ought to be good reasons for making an exception here.
Baiscally, what you need to do is unbind the device(s) from its/their driver(s)
before loading pciback.ko with the respective options taken (and removed) from
the kernel command line.
