https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=280965 Summary: Failure updateing yast2! Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: c.exe@gmx.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Hi OpenSuSE-Team! First i´d like to say i love your OS. Really great stuff, best linux distro i know. But since 10.1 there´s a heavy bug when applying the newest patches. I´ve started the YaST2 online update. I selected some patches, and then i started the thing. YaST2 was first applying the libzypp update, then bevor installing any other patch, a message appeared that told me that YaST2 will finish the update and then it will reboot the computer. So, every thing was fine till now: After i pushed the ok button, my disk LED started to work heavily. I took a look at the perfomance monitor and it told me that yast2 and yast2-base were active processes with a lot of sys usage. About an hour later (you know this is a very long time...) i took again a look, and my box did not reboot, the yast2 and yast2-base processes were active but didn´t use any sys performance. Last time this happend (it was openSuSE 10.1) i rebooted my box. But this was not very smart, YaST2 didn´t start after that. But that was last time... this time i started YaST2 online update again (i did no reboot) and applied my selected patches. YaST2 did it´s job, and since that my box works fine again. But please correct this awefull bug. I hope i could help you a little doing that and i also hope you understand my broken english. Thank you. Bye.
