https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=407688 Summary: mounting old file systems failed when updating a 10.3 to 11.0 Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rfno@fietze-home.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Customer Created an attachment (id=226821) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=226821) sfdisk listing The system to be updated is a 10.3 using 3 disks, one IDE and two SCSI disks. The IDE disk contains some LVM partitions. The fstab of the old system is in the attachment as, well as the outputs of sfdisk, pvscan, fgscan and lvscan. The root partition is detected bu the openSUSE 11.0 installer, trying to mount all the other file systems fails with sda3 and sdb7. Somehow the installer is confused. Exactly the same constellation worked when updating from 10.0 to 10.1 to 10.2 and to 10.3 (the separate /var was a problem in the last update, as you might know). I tried to scan for PVs, VGs and LVs on tty after I got the errors and checked y2log. I really do not yet know why mounting my old problems should be a problem at all. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
