in general, as far as I can tell, the problem is not in the gnome, but somewhere in the depths of the system packages. after compiling the kernel from the source code, the problem with hyper-threading disappeared, the gnome with the enabled hyper-threading showed slideshows instead of animations
Interesting. Is this the same kernel version as in Tumbleweed? Did you use the same config? This might help tracking down the root cause.
I compiled 4.19.2, but the problem appeared a long time ago, the configuration used the standard one, without changes, I wanted to compare it to Fedora config, but there it is missing, you need to get it from makemenu, only all hands in any way will not reach to save a config.
