https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=354342 Summary: Installation hangs with "starting sound card..." Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: gburt@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- On the last step of installation, "Hardware Configuration", the installation gets stuck on the "start sound card" step, on two installation attempts. After several minutes, I hard reset the system, and skipped the last step. Not sure if this is related, but after installing (by skipping the last step) it logs me into the default user fine and the system is usable, but if I log out and try to log in, it authenticates fine but hangs with a blue background or the green default bg image - I can move the mouse, but no nautilus selection or context menu - just the bg. I am using a Dell Latitude 830 laptop with intel wireless, graphics, and hd sound. I have an external monitor plugged in, too. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
