http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=508881 Summary: possible ISA PnP detection issue? Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: linuxvinh@yahoo.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.8.1.17) Gecko/20080829 Firefox/2.0.0.17 After installing SUSE 11.1 from DVD, I ran into an issue with getting my soundcard working. Upon further investigation, I found a difference between 10.1 and 11.1 that may/may not have contributed to the problem. In 10.1, a Hardware Information->ISA PnP from YaST produces two devices for my Creative ViBRA16X soundcard with SysFS BusID of 00:01.00 and 00:01.01. In 11.1, I get 14 Unclassified devices with SysFS BusID's from 00:00.00 to 00:00.0f with 00:00.01 and 00:00.03 missing. The soundcard is at 01:01.00 and 01:01.01. The Creative ViBRA16X card is an ISA card with PnP. In 10.1, alsaconf configures the card fine. In 11.1, alsaconf "thinks" it configured the card fine, but it errors out with "No soundcards found..." I am still struggling with soundcard on 11.1 but am reporting the weird ISA PnP report from Hardware Information just in case it is related. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install SUSE 11.1 on a machine with a Creative ViBRA16X ISA PnP soundcard. Actual Results: 14 Unclassified devices 2 Creative ViBRA16X devices Expected Results: 2 Creative ViBRA16X devices Soundcard thread with more info: http://forums.opensuse.org/install-boot-login/415547-suse-11-1-creative-vibr... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
