The type numbers are: RTL8111/8168B (PCI-E) RTL8169 (PCI) With the provided r8169 kernel module only the PCI interface is OK. The RTL8168 looks also fine at first. Ethtool always shows Link detected: no wither there is a link or not. The leds outside the NIC show the correct information like speed and blinking traffic led. When using the RTL provided r8168 module the issue is solved.
