http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=631313 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=631313#c0 Summary: k3b cannot do its job Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jw@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- on 11.3 we have k3b and wodim. But they do not work together. Upon starting k3b I get this message: Unable to find cdrecord executable K3b uses cdrecord to actually write CDs. Solution: Install the cdrtools package which contains cdrecord. MP3 Audio Decoder plugin not found. K3b could not load or find the MP3 decoder plugin. This means that you will not be able to create Audio CDs from MP3 files. Many Linux distributions do not include MP3 support for legal reasons. Solution: To enable MP3 support, please install the MAD MP3 decoding library as well as the K3b MAD MP3 decoder plugin (the latter may already be installed but not functional due to the missing libmad). Some distributions allow installation of MP3 support via an online update tool. Please either add cdrecord to default distribution or make k3b work with either wodim or cdrecord. Furthermore, a simple 'sudo zypper in cdrecord' fails with this message: $ sudo zypper in cdrecord Retrieving repository 'science' metadata [done] Building repository 'science' cache [done] Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... 'cdrecord' not found in package names. Trying capabilities. 'cdrkit-cdrtools-compat' providing 'cdrecord' is already installed. Resolving package dependencies...
