https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=343412 Summary: CDs written by k3b at high writing speeds cannot be read. Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: nice@titanic.nyme.hu QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other I experienced that when I burn a CD at higher speeds (i.e. above 4x) then it cannot be read. I had to dispose of some CDs when I was trying to burn the openSUSE 10.3 network setup CDs, until I learned that CDs written at 4x speed can be read. DVD burning always seemed to be OK. K3B reporst my DVD drive to be "TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-L632D". The machine is HP Compaq nc6320. Today I attempted to reproduce this symptom but I didn't succed. I wrote a CD at max speed (12x) and I could read it afterwards. Was it a known bug and has been fixed? Anyway the data tracks on a CD written under Linux seem to be dimmer than than on CDs written under Windows on a very similar machine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
