https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=699777 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=699777#c0 Summary: intel 4965 AGN is soft-rfkilled by default Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jmatejek@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- On my MSI PR200 laptop with intel pro/wireless 4965 AGN, when starting the laptop with hardware rfkill on (wifi off), it cannot be turned on by GUI. To illustrate, here's what happens. At startup: matejcik@limetka:~> sudo rfkill list 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes after toggling the rfkill switch (wifi on): matejcik@limetka:~> sudo rfkill list 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no 1: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: yes Hard blocked: no at this point, NetworkManager claims that wifi is disabled and it cannot enable it by itself. (indeed, ifconfig wlan0 up throws "unknown error 132") Using "rfkill unblock all" works and NetworkManager will work without problems afterwards. Also, toggling the HW rfkill on/off after this operation works as expected. Starting the laptop with rfkill off also doesn't exhibit the problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
