https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=809630 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=809630#c0 Summary: zypper dup upgrade switched wifi driver iwlagn to iwlwifi, but fails to change scripts in /etc/modprobe.d Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rens.groenewegen@xs4all.nl QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:19.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/19.0 It's a laptop with 12.3, upgraded with zypper dup from 12.2 used to have the iwlagn driver, but now has the iwlwifi driver. have to manually modprobe iwlwifi to activate wireless. deleting and reconfigure of wlan entry in yast2 does not help. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.upgrade 12.2 with zypper dup to 12.3 2.reboot 3.no wireless module loaded. Actual Results: no wifi active, although all user config (knetworkmanager info) pertaining to wireless networks is still there. Expected Results: wifi should have worked, update should have addded the appropriate script in /etc/modprobe.d ( 50-iwlwifi.conf ) for (someone like) me easy to fix, for a end-user it's a quite hopeless case. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
