https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=730095 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=730095#c0 Summary: Partitioner does not correctly clear up a USB used for install medium Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: HP OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: roger.luedecke@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 After using a USB flash drive to Install I will run the partitioner on it once I am done to clean it up and give it a usable partition table. The host machine and others running Linux will see the drive complete with readable files as unchanged, though (if I recall perfectly) Windows7 and MacOSX read the drive as I intended it to be. Ultimately I have to use my Macintosh disk-utility to get the drive back in to pristine form. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.dd installation medium 2.create new partition table in Expert Partitioner 3.plug drive back in to any Linux machine and it will still mount as the install medium Expected Results: Should have been recovered clean as the day it was manufactured. This problem was present in 11.4 as well, and perhaps 11.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
