Please try "sudo rm -f /usr/lib*/dri/nouveau*.so" and/or packages from X11:XOrg without Mesa-nouveau3d.
I need information because I assume it is caused by very experimental nouveau 3D driver which is currently in Mesa package on openSUSE 11.3 :-(.
Also /var/log/XOrg.0.log in broken state is interesting ...
If nothing helps you can also try packages described here: http://de.opensuse.org/Nouveau
this is not a Xserver/Xorg problem but firstly a kernel-only thing if I don't miss something. the aim of this ticket (for me) would be to fix kernel module that this state never will show up again: [ 75.242400] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: PFIFO_INTR 0x00000010 - Ch 1 [ 75.242400] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: PFIFO still angry after 101 spins, halt if this won't happen again, Xorg/dri might be fine ?! anyway, in bug #619910 I attached a Xorg.0.log (id=373806) after the same kernel msgs: http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=373806 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
