https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=239188 Summary: OpenGL Z-buffer sorting confused on Intel graphics cards Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: sitsofe@yahoo.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Description of the problem: The z-buffer (which apparently controls which surfaces are shown above other surfaces) sometimes becomes confused on computers using Intel integrated graphics. Steps to reproduce the problem: (with 3D Acceleration enabled) 1. Start KDE. 2. Press the right mouse button on an empty piece of the desktop and choose "Configure Desktop..." 3. From the list at the left choose Screen Saver. Open the "OpenGL Screen Savers" item and select Carousel. Note the image in the preview window. 4. Click on the Setup button. Drag the new KXSConfig window so you can see the preview in the Kdesktop window at the same time. Expected results: Parts of images at the back of the KXSConfig preview being obscured by surfaces near the front of the scene to not be visible. Actual results: Occassionally a surface at the back of the scene will be drawn in front of a surface which should be occluding it. How reproducible is the problem?: It is reproducible every time. Version information: SUSE 10.1 (both x86_64 and i586 versions) Mesa-6.4.2-19.12 xorg-x11-server-6.9.0-50.30 Two different Intel cards exhibited the same problem. The first in a x86_64 desktop: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 945G/GZ Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) The second in a laptop: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02) Additional Information: The problem will also periodically manifest itself during fullscreen OpenGL screensavers (which are activated after a timeout) but there is seemingly no pattern for when it will happen. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
