http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=559023 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=559023#c0 Summary: KDE4 updater applet fails to install java-1_6_0-opensdk update Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Maintenance AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=329883) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=329883) pk_backend_zypp log (bz2-compressed) The KDE4 updater applet (or probably packagekit which does the real work) fails to install the java-1_6_0-opensdk security update (patch 1613). On the user interface side, it looks like this: - the update applet tells me there's a security update for java available - I click "install" and enter the root password - some seconds later, the update applet tells me *again* that there's a security update for java available The only log that is modified is /var/log/pk_backend_zypp - I attached it to this bugreport (compresses *extremely* well - 1.2 MB -> 24 kB...) I found no hints about which other information could be useful to debug packagekit - if you need more details, please ask. BTW: It looks like it would be possible to install the patch with zypper: # zypper patch [...] The following NEW patch is going to be installed: java-1_6_0-openjdk The following packages are going to be upgraded: java-1_6_0-openjdk java-1_6_0-openjdk-plugin 2 packages to upgrade. Overall download size: 26.4 MiB. After the operation, additional 31.0 KiB will be used. (I aborted installation to be able to help debugging this issue ;-) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
