I can't say it reliably as I've been unable to duplicate the hangup here, but I guess that either the nameserver is buggy or there's some glitch in the network setup and as a result, determining your FQHN takes insanely long (YaST could of course handle the situation gracefully, I just have so far no clue how's that going to be done). Can you please try what happens if you type 'hostname -f' in the console? Does it hang for a long time? Does it finally print something? Also, what does '/usr/X11R6/bin/xauth list $your_fq_hostname:0' print?
