http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617715 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617715#c0 Summary: Change Live-CD volume name string Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium AssignedTo: coolo@novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100527 SUSE/3.6.4-2.6 Firefox/3.6.4 Currently the Live-CD volume names are set to the rather unimaginative "CDROM", meaning when someone writes it onto a CD/USB and mounts it from his existing desktop the device name that shows up is "CDROM". The request is to change this name to some more meaningful string like "openSUSE_<version>_Gnome/KDE" or "oS_<version>_Gnome/KDE", etc. This helps in that the user does not have to peek into the contents of the CD device to know that it is actually the 11.3 Gnome live CD or 11.3 KDE live CD or 11.4 something and so on. He can know it as he reads the device name that shows up when he mounts it from his desktop.
