https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=431844 Summary: With compiz, after selecting one window by the title bar, when you try to select another window the first one is affected Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: novell_david@bailey.id.au QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I have enabled 'desktop effects' (compiz) using simple-ccsm. If I select (with Left Mouse Button) the title bar of one window (say to move it, but that isn't absolutely necessary). Then when I then try to select another window's title bar, the first window is still 'selected' and actions happen to the first window instead of the second (except that moving is re-interpreted as resizing of the first window). If I double click the first window is shaded instead of the one I clicked on. NB. Clicking on other parts of the second window work as normal (ie click in the body and the window is selected). It is only the title bar that has this behavior. Things that I have noticed happen: * when you LMB on the second window, the first is brought to the front (possibly over the top of the window that was clicked on, depending on their positions) * you can 'cancel' the other window selection by: * on the first window, LMB click / hold and press <ESC> * RMB or Middle Mouse click on the first OR second window. NB. Middle mouse click sends the window to the back * double LMB click on the second window. This will shade the first window, but it will 'release' the focus * you can sometimes do 2 LMB clicks that aren't fast enough to be counted as a double click, but are faster than some important threshold, and the focus will be released. If you click too slowly, it will not work * when you LMB on the second window's title, the mouse changes to up/down or side to side or diagonal arrows, instead of the moving cross arrows. This indicates that another window has the focus. The machine I have this issue on does have 2 monitors in twinview mode, I don't know if that is significant. I have another machine (a laptop) with only one monitor that doesn't have this problem and window selection is normal. I get the same behavior in KDE3 and KDE4 As far as I can tell compiz is otherwise working fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
