http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=555647 Summary: A forced fsck does not give any output as boot, making it appear stalled Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: vdboor-fora@codingdomain.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- --- Comment #0 from Diederik van der Boor <vdboor-fora@codingdomain.com> 2009-11-15 17:16:59 UTC --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; nl; rv:1.9.1.4) Gecko/20091016 SUSE/3.5.4-1.1.2 Firefox/3.5.4 The second time I booted openSUSE nothing was happening for a long time. The boot process just appeared to be stalled after detecting all USB devices. (which in turn prompted me to do a hard reset, try again, reset again, reboot to a rescue CD's, etc.. you get the idea ;-) It turned out that a forced fsck was done, but no output was given (autch..). Could you please fix this behavior? I expect more people to think the boot process halts.
