https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=484044 Summary: when one or more of all live update patches have a conflict, zypper does not report the error. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rens.groenewegen@xs4all.nl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009012700 SUSE/3.0.6-0.1 Firefox/3.0.6 when one or more of all live update patches have a conflict, zypper does not report the error. It should at least say there is a conflict and (optimal) suggest to do a manual online update. (manual online update reports the conflict and suggests solutions, as it should...) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install 64 bit java plugin 1.2_b09-9.1 (gcjwebplugin) / curl 7.18.1-18.1 2. tell zypper to check for updates 3. zypper will not be able to update due to conflicts java openjdk plugin 1.4_b14-24.2 will not install maybe understandable, gcjweb is of course not the standard java jdk plugin with curl it is a different story. same provider, no joy. problem is that the patch offered is i586, the arch is x86_64 curl 7.18.1-18.2 will not be patched. Actual Results: nothing. zypper does not report the issue, just repeats the check and comes back with the same list of patches. Expected Results: report error and offer to open manual online update (so that at least the other patches can be applied.....) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
