https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=802538 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=802538#c0 Summary: new suse theme does not support luks partition auth and samba/winbind auth Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rob.verduijn@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 Hello, I got a lot of updates this morning, most goes ok but these two points where easy to notice. The new (great looking btw) plymouth boot theme ask for my luks pasword but you cannot enter it unless you press escape first. The kdm display manager theme does not support samba/winbind logins, the workaround is the same as it was when this happened a couple releases ago. set the DISPLAYMANAGER_KDM_THEME="" in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager It saddens me to look forward to another 8 months of default kdm login theme, it's not very good looking. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. enable samba domain authentication and use a luks encrypted partition 2. reboot and use the machine 3. Actual Results: no luks password screen , just a notification that you need to enter a password en error message stating that the cool new kdm theme is not compatible with samba/winbind logons :( Expected Results: plymouth should give a nice screen where you could type your luks password to decrypt your partition The awesome looking new kdm theme should be capable of dealing with samba domain logons. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
