Yes, there is no ipv6 ULOG target and also no ipv6 support in ulogd.
Further, the author is busy with something else since years...
Security related bugs are fixed by netfilter team.
There is some ulogd-2.0.0beta1 (note, it is released 2005-Jan-09),
but I didn't have the time to review the code and test it as for
ulogd-1.x.
So finally, I'm not sure, if this is a good idea... Except you want
to invest the time and want to take over the package and implement
the missing ipv6 target / support upstream :-)
Except of the above, we would need another config file than the
default example one to avoid useless logging into multiple files
as soon as a plugin is installed. It would be also possible to
run it as root (again) and secure it using an apparmor profile.
And this would also mean, ulogd will be installed & started by
default and IMO we need a PM decision to do this.
Feel free to create a fate request. At the moment it is a WONTFIX
for me.
