So to say I think sax is not responsible for checking whether the installed driver works or not. There are several possible environment problems which prevents the driver from working correctly. If you intentionally exchange the kernel no matter if this is an update of the standard kernel or a switch to the xen kernel it is up to you to cleanup the rest of the environment which means update the nvidia driver for xen... which is not possible because that doesn't exist, so uninstall what is not working anymore.
