"xbacklight -set 100" restores the backlight, but it really shouldn't happen in the first place. (It's also hard to enter that command, as it's hard to find the mouse cursor when the primary monitor isn't visible.) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. With the system running, plug an HDMI monitor into the external HDMI port. 2. 3. Actual Results: The HDMI monitor displays as a secondary monitor, and the laptop internal (primary) monitor goes black. Expected Results: The HDMI monitor displays as a secondary monitor, and the laptop internal (primary) monitor remains lit and usable as the primary monitor.
