https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=250143 Summary: Request for a configuration tool for extra buttons of mice and keyboards Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1plus Platform: All OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: slonoinquisitor@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de It would be nice for SuSe to allow for a simple configuration of extra buttons of mice and keyboards. The configuration of extra mice buttons through xorg.conf is too complicated for an average user, so many users simply leave the extra buttons unused, which is not making Linux more user-friendly in their eyes. The same applies to multimedia buttons of modern keyboards. In Windows one has e.g. Logitech drivers that allow for a simple and quick configuration. Presently there are serious advances in Linux configuration tools. For example see the keyTouch project (http://keytouch.sourceforge.net/), which embraces most of the keyboard models on the market. Why not implement the tool similar to the keyTouch, but also with the mice support, directly in the KDE Control Center? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
