https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=298503 Summary: Renaming a VPN configuration doesn't work in nm-applet Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 7 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: federico@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development 1. Start with a VPN configuration (I'm using the NetworkManager-novellvpn stuff) 2. Go into the "Configure VPN" dialog. Select one configuration, and click the "Edit" button. 3. Rename that VPN configuration. I renamed mine from "Novell VPN" to "Novell VPN (Provo)" 4. Exit the VPN configuration dialog. 5. nm-applet prints a warning to the console (invisible in the GUI): "couldn't get 'name' item from GConf". This happens as it tried to fetch /system/networking/vpn_connections/Novell@32@VPN - the old name of the configuration, instead of the new one. Along the way, NetworkManager itself seems to get very confused. After deleting all my GConf keys under /system/networking/vpn_connections, I had to kill NM, restart it, and re-define my VPN settings. It wouldn't work if I just erased the GConf data and re-created it in nm-vpn-properties. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
