The hwinfo file you sent through though, suggests you may have a hardware fault as I can see one part where the link is continually coming up and then going down again immediately. There may be a problem with your network port, or perhaps with the network cable or even with whatever router or switch you are connected to. Troubleshooting: You should first test with a replacement network cable. If that makes no difference, borrow a router or use a spare one to test that you are able to either obtain an IP address automatically or set a static IP. If neither of these work, the problem is with the network card on your motherboard.
