Is it possible to get a swamp id? The reason is that the gdm we have in 11.1 misdetects the configured system keyboard layout. This causes the bug as described here, but the main issue is a nasty side-effect: sometimes, an invalid keyboard layout is added to the user configuration, and this can create an error dialog on each login. This will also be an issue for users migrating their settings from 11.1 to 11.2 (I've pushed the necessary fixes in factory, but having them in 11.1 too will help mitigate the issue). The .changes entry for gdm: - Add gdm-use-sax-keyboard-map.patch (bnc#509920): use the correct X layout when reading /etc/sysconfig/keyboard. - Add gdm-keyboard-invalid-user-data.patch: the old gdm was not setting a valid keyboard layout in some cases, and this invalid layout ended up in ~/.dmrc. This patch makes gdm detect this and revert the user data to the default layout. The .changes entry for gnome-settings-daemon: - Add gnome-settings-daemon-filter-invalid-xkb.patch: when the xkb config from gconf can't be used, try to remove invalid xkb layouts first before showing an error dialog. The old gdm used to have invalid layouts. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
