Ubuntu 10.04 has these installed: hal - version: 0.5.14-0ubuntu5 (lucid) udev - version: 151-12 (lucid) xserver-xorg-input-wacom - version: 1:0.10.5-0ubuntu4 (lucid) So, I suppose that means that Ubuntu still uses HAL? By the way, openSUSE 11.3 RC1 _KDE_ LiveCD does not have HAL installed by default, which leads to problems with automounting of disks (and some other problems too see this bug https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=613898 ). So I installed hal and did 'rchal restart', then reloaded X.Org (logged out, then logged in), but nothing changed. And this is logical, since xf86-input-wacom uses UDEV, if I understood you correctly. So HAL is not relevant to wacom tablet detection at all, right? That leads me to the thought that there is some UDEV problem with detection of wacom tablets. I am ready to test any solution, but note that I use my laptop for work, so I cannot install RC1 on it, which means that I cannot reboot. Though it does not prevent me from installing packages/reloading processes/kernel modules/restarting X.Org (simple login and logout should be enough in this case, right?). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
