When using KDM the behavior is as above (segfault on earlykdm). Then I installed GDM. Boot with GDM works well, and will present the correct login screen. From there if I try to launch a KDE session, it will load the green screen with the rotating dots, and after a couple of seconds the machine locks up (no mouse movement, no keyboard, ssh connections truncated). The only way is a hard reset. If on the other hand I try to log into XFCE, the desktop will load, but as soon as I click on any button, everything locks up. Booting into single user mode will do funny things with the main console (it stops scrolling at a certain point, you can go forward pressing enter, and it will not let you log in). Entering the second console with alt-F2 will give you a prompt. Typing startkde will hang everything. My problem is that I can't find anything in the logs... no trace of panics or anything. I have formatted everything and reverted to debian, but I thought this may be useful. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
