http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1121502 Bug ID: 1121502 Summary: broken dependency: byobu / python3-newt Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Factory Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: jas@uci.edu QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:64.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/64.0 Build Identifier: package byobu apparently should require/depend-on package python3-newt, but doesn't. when package python3-newt is not installed, then, when running byobu and pressing F9 (or running 'byobu-config' from the prompt in one of its windows), instead of bringing up the byobu help/config dialog box, that byobu window is rather rudely killed with no explanation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install byobu 2. run byobu 3. hit f9 or type 'byobu-config' at the shell prompt in current byobu window Actual Results: no help/config dialog box comes up. even worse, the byobu window is killed, and you're down to one less window in your byobu session. if that was the last window in your byobu session, then byobu dies completely. no error message or feedback is given to the user as to what happened. Expected Results: 1) get a pop-up help/config dialog box inside current window. 2) secondarily, if there is a problem with dependencies (e.g., something is missing which is normally packaged in python3-newt), it would help if byobu itself gave the user some kind of helpful message about what is missing, instead of just killing user's byobu window/shell. This is in Tumbleweed version 20181224 Please let me know if there's any information I can add to be helpful. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
