However if you move the generated config file to /etc/X11/xorg.conf and run startx as user, the server comes up fine. Just starting X as user (with config moved to /etc/X11) also causes the crash Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.run X -configure 2.run X -config /root/xorg.conf.new 3.
