--- Comment #4 from Michal Seben
I'm sorry, but I am not at openSUSE anymore; I go back to Ubuntu yesterday.
In Ubuntu, VirtualBox is installed without any configuration (and I think remember that the same for Mandriva Linux), I have downloaded the latest package from VirtualBox website and I simply clicked "install".
In openSUSE, when I installed VirtualBox from the mirrors I needed open a terminal to use chmod, because a needed file to run VirtualBox had no privileges to be runned with my user.
chmod isn't good solution, you have to add user to vboxusers group, this is a due to security problem see bnc#429725, problem is that vbox fail silently and user didn't know what's wrong I am working on this see bnc#500469, I think I catch 11.2 release
With the latest package of VirtualBox, the problem is as I commented at the description of this bug.
If with your instructions the bug is solved, the package manager must make it automatically to resolve this bug, named "VirtualBox isn't easy to run after install it".
I hope that this usability problem be fixed as soon as possible for I can re-use and recommend openSUSE, I really liked this distro for their configuration center, the good treatment given to KDE and also for listening to the user community.
See you soon.
