http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=543176 Summary: YaST2 cites 'supportability: unknown' for all packages Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: r.seete@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; en-GB) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.00 If one looks at the description of a package in the YaST2 package manager the description will always claim "supportability: unknown". This is probably a hangover from SLE/NLD. It would be better to either suppress this line in openSUSE or to add the appropriate metadata. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open YaST2 Package Manager 2. Select a package 3. Scroll down in description tab to see text Actual Results: String saying something that some users may misunderstand or otherwise find disconcerting. Expected Results: Pertinent information or no claim about supportability. There's probably only a need for two supportability claims in openSUSE: 1. OSS/N-OSS/Update Repos: "Security Updates until YYYY-MM-DD" 2. OBS Repos: "Build Service Repository: Use at own risk" External providers such as Packman and VideoLAN would add their own appropriate information. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
