https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731271 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731271#c0 Summary: Xorg and Intel Sandybridge Mobile (GT2+) not refreshing screen when using panning Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: marko.veelma@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 After upgrade from 11.4 to 12.1 Xorg is not refreshing screen when virtual screen size is bigger than actual display size and when view is panned down I don't know how much but after some part of top is invisible, screen is not refreshing any more. It always refreshes when panning around or when panned to the top. It always stalls when having something running in full screen mode (vnc viewer, youtub in full screen). Sometimes it happens also with normal desktop usage. Sometimes cursor movement also refreshes screen but not always. In some position refresh starts working again for some time. In this case it happens sometimes that only some part of screen rfereshes and not everything. I'll check later if this also happens if external monitor (1920x1200) is connected and if it happens then is if on both or only on laptop display issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run Xorg xrandr shows: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1366 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192 LVDS1 connected 1366x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 277mm x 156mm panning 1366x768+0+0 1366x768 60.1*+ … 2. change virtual screen size:
xrandr --fb 1920x1200 --output LVDS1 --mode 1366x768 --panning 1920x1200
now xrandr shows: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1200, maximum 8192 x 8192 LVDS1 connected 1920x1200+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 277mm x 156mm panning 1920x1200+0+0 1366x768 60.1*+ … 3. open some changing window (youtube video or top running in xterm), move cursor down so that upper part of image goes away and look stalling picture Actual Results: screen is not refreshing any more when panned down Workstation is Lenovo Thinkpad X220 with Intel graphics: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Processor Family Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) [ 58.768] (II) intel(0): Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) Sandybridge Mobile (GT2+) [ 58.768] (--) intel(0): Chipset: "Sandybridge Mobile (GT2+)" window manager: fluxbox-1.3.2-1.1.x86_64 here are list of packages that could be related with this and their versions in working 11.4 and problematic 12.1: -xorg-x11-driver-video-nouveau 0.0.16_20110115_b795ca6 +xorg-x11-driver-video-nouveau 0.0.16_20110720_b806e3f -xorg-x11-libXfixes-32bit 7.6_4.0.5 -xorg-x11-libXfixes 7.6_4.0.5 -xorg-x11-libXfixes-devel 7.6_4.0.5 +xorg-x11-libXfixes-32bit 7.6_5.0 +xorg-x11-libXfixes 7.6_5.0 +xorg-x11-libXfixes-devel 7.6_5.0 -xorg-x11-server 7.6_1.9.3 -xorg-x11-server-extra 7.6_1.9.3 +xorg-x11-server 7.6_1.10.4 +xorg-x11-server-extra 7.6_1.10.4 -kernel-desktop 2.6.37.6 +kernel-desktop 3.1.0 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
