From the error messages, it seems the boot image attempts to use qla2xxx, instead of qla4xxx to search for root partition. I have tried adding boot

But during the first boot up, the card managed to see the bootable image through the card, but it cannot detect the LVM on the boot Lun, and complains "/dev/system/root is not found". option like "modprobe qla4xxx", "load=qla4xxx" to force the boot image to load qla4xxx module, but it doesn't work. I have tried to boot to both default and failsafe options, but all gave me the same error. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up a Dell PowerEdge R710 or a similar x86_64 server, with Qlogic QLE 8242 CNA card; 2. Zone the CNA ports to an EMC VNX7500 array through 10Git iSCSI connectivity; 3. Register the CNA ports using IQN names with a hostname; 4. Create a storage group and connect the host for QLE8242 ports. Present a LUN of sufficient capacity for BFS installation; 5. Install SLES 11 SP2 latest build through BFS of iSCSI connectivity on the boot LUN, use 'withiscsi=1' option during installation. 6. Reboot server after installation is completed, and observe the behavior during first bootup 3. Actual Results: The boot image complains "cannot find /dev/system/root", which is the LVM volume used as root partition. After it exceeds maximum no. of trials, it exists to /bin/sh prompt. Expected Results: The first boot up should be able proceed smoothly and complete the whole installation. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
