https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800708 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=800708#c0 Summary: No help documentation for the Synaptiks touchpad configuration tool Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Documentation AssignedTo: ke@suse.com ReportedBy: marc@marcchamberlin.com QAContact: ke@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; WOW64; rv:18.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/18.0 I have already reported this to KDE but they pushed back and said this is a distribution issue and I am to report it here. My laptop has a Synaptics touchpad and the installation media automatically installed the Synaptiks Touchpad Configuration Manager for it. The trouble is that the Help button in the GUI for this tool brings up a default document that is supposed to handle the case of missing help documentation for application. But KDE is no longer supporting this tool and it has been pushed to Github. Therefore a patch must be made to synaptiks.desktop and the following is what the KDE team suggested - diff --git a/synaptiks.desktop b/synaptiks.desktop index f65866c..50a32d2 100644 --- a/synaptiks.desktop +++ b/synaptiks.desktop @@ -5,7 +5,7 @@ Terminal=false Icon=synaptiks Categories=Qt;KDE;Utility;HardwareSettings;Settings; -X-DocPath=synaptiks/index.html +X-DocPath=http://synaptiks.readthedocs.org/en/0.8.1/ X-KDE-StartupNotify=true X-DBUS-StartupType=Unique Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open up the Synaptiks Touchpad Configuration Management tool 2.Click on the Help button 3. Actual Results: No Help Documentation is found, therefore the KDE Help subsystem brings up a false and misleading help page that does not apply. Expected Results: I really expect to see help documentation for this tool. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
