vgaswitcheroo seems to be working for me with 3.7.1-17-desktop, the difference in consumption with and without discrete card is about 8W
Hi Valery Valery, I updated my kernel to the 3.7.4-20 and tried all three kernels - desktop, default, and vanilla. This problem still remains for me. In fact it seems that my power consumption rate goes up, when i use echo OFF > /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch I wonder if the problem crept in with this change by David Airlie - http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=MTE4MDM In terms of my hybrid graphics set up - i have a "muxless" AMD set up. This means the AMD GPU is not actually connected to the display driver, and instead is only called on to do rendering work to assist the Intel GPU when required. It is now the more common system, but prior to 2011 was mostly unheard of. I suspect your VGA config is one of these earlier systems. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
