https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=855868 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=855868#c0 Summary: xdm.service won't restart after the X session is terminated (e.g. by Ctrl+Alt+2xBackspace) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: Christian.Lorenz@opsoli-Consulting.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:25.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/25.0 If an X session is terminated (e.g. by Ctrl+Alt+2xBackspace) the should get the chance to login again. Instead only an empty text console is displayed. Workaround is to login to text console and performing an "rcxdm restart". The workaround is not practical for normal users, so this bug is classified as "major". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install and enable LXDM 2. login into X session via LXDM 3. type Ctrl+Alt+2xBackspace to terminate the X session Actual Results: The empty virtual text console is displayed. Expected Results: XDM service should be restarted and LXDM should appear again. XDM behaves fine if Crtl+Alt+2xBackspace is pressed already in the LXDM login screen (X terminates and LXDM appears again). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
