Hello
I have just installed openSUSE 12.2 / kde from the i586.iso DVD.
The install went smooth and after the initial login I have looked around in the
system and everything I have checked worked oke.
But after rebooting the system I saw a nice graphical GRUB2 selection screen,
where I selected openSUSE 12.2, followed by the splash screen and after 10-15
seconds followed by a screen with wide vertical black and white bands with
small black and white blocks orderly positioned over the separation lines
between the black and white bands. After that nothing happened any further, so
I pressed shortly the power button.
I rebooted the openSUSE 12.2 system with the 1st advanced option with linux
3.4.6-2.10-desktop. The result was the same as described above, so I pressed
again shortly the power button.
I rebooted the openSUSE 12.2 system again with the 2nd advanced option with
linux 3.4.6-2.10-desktop in recovery mode. The result was that I could login in
an awfull 640 x 480 low resolution screen. The nVidia Corp GeForce 8400 GS card
used the 2d fbdev and the unknown 3d Gallium 8.04 driver in stead of the
Nouveau driver that was used during the initial login at the end of the
installation process.
What info is needed to analyse and correct this problem that makes openSUSE
12.2
currently useless for me.
Regards, Frans
