This morning kernel update is actually making things a bit better. 2.6.27.19-3.2-pae ath5k loads up, connect. But there is still a lot of loss: $ ping homer PING homer.figuiere.net (172.18.2.32) 56(84) bytes of data. 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=8.43 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=135 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=3 ttl=64 time=4552 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=3632 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=5 ttl=64 time=2716 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=6 ttl=64 time=1771 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=7 ttl=64 time=1067 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=11 ttl=64 time=5779 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=12 ttl=64 time=4881 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=13 ttl=64 time=4042 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=14 ttl=64 time=3051 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=15 ttl=64 time=2053 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=16 ttl=64 time=1086 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=17 ttl=64 time=197 ms 64 bytes from 172.18.2.32: icmp_seq=18 ttl=64 time=307 ms ^C --- homer.figuiere.net ping statistics --- 18 packets transmitted, 15 received, 16% packet loss, time 17018ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 8.431/2352.211/5779.046/1844.005 ms, pipe 6 $ FWIW, homer is my server here, that is connected to the wireless AP. Note the time and the packet sequence. In the general use case, I reopened my Firefox, and most of the tabs either timed out, or got a connection reset. Worse, the https to the server on the local network was actually in error. Switching back to the wire, it works. Also it used to work with the X60 with a ipw3945 (I can't tell if it still does as I had to return the machine). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
