I'm using a 3Ware Escalade 8006-2LP. The 3ware module is loaded by initrd. My guess is udev does not add the /dev/disk/by-id for some unknown reason. The boot stops and I can list /dev/disk/by-id, showing my other HDs but not the one connected to 3ware controller. If I replace the device by-id with /dev/sdc2 in menu.lst of grub the system will boot fine. Even the edd-int13_dev80 devices will show up later but not when they are needed at grub stage. It worked perfectly with 11.1. I did an update to kernel 2.6.31.12-0.2 but still the same problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot my system Actual Results: Fail. Boot stops.
