https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=447391 Summary: PackageKit Locked Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jimomura@pathcom.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Community User - startup computer and login as "root" - "Red star" icon in panel shows up with notice of an update. - Click on "Show Updates" - Window opens and the update is displayed with check box checked. - Click on "Update System" * nothing happens. [this is the problem] - System Monitor does not show network traffic related to the update. - Click on "Update System" more times and it does not make any difference. - Click on the red icon in the panel and click on "Update System Now" and it fails due to no "authorization" [how so? I'm logged in as "root"?] - Eventually I found out that "PackageKit" is locked up. I kill the "PackageKitd" process and get the update done. It probably had to do with my using the "Show Updates". It looks like I am the only person in the world who likes to see what updates are going to get applied. . . . -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
