https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=166918 kmachalkova@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- AssignedTo|kmachalkova@novell.com |locilka@novell.com Severity|Major |Enhancement Status|ASSIGNED |NEW ------- Comment #14 from kmachalkova@novell.com 2006-09-12 07:22 MST ------- Basically, what YaST remote administration module does is (among other things) that it enables XDM service - no matter what your runlevel is. The same thing is done by default when you run your installation via VNC. I see from the logs that during the first stage of installation you have set your default runlevel to be 3 - which (among other things) disables XDM service. So no wonder you were not presented kdm login screen after VNC connect. Runlevel 3 has, by definition, no X services running so if you want to VNC to your machine, you should not set your runlevel to 3, and if you do, you have to enable XDM yourself. But I agree that user should be somehow notified and this needs to be documented. Reassigning to Lukas - as an enhancement for yast2-runlevel. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
