I did choose the KDE desktop and accepted all defaults. I do not remember that I did choose “Automatic Configuration” somewhere, it seems this is this the default. Near the end of the installation, this “Automatic Configuration” is performed. It proceeds to 65% (“Configuring hardware... (2/8)”), then apparently stops. I waited half an hour, nothing happens. The busy cursor still moves but I cannot move the mouse anymore.
